March 28, 2024
It’s the end of March and for most of us, Spring Break has come and gone. We may be stuck in classrooms for the next two months, but at least summer is around the corner. The best time of the year is almost here, and that’s a great feeling.
Unless you’re going to spend summer cooped up in an office building so you can gain “experience” to put on a resume. You DO NOT have that many summers left. And one of the best ways to recharge your soul instead of letting it drain from your body is to work at summer camp.
Not only can working at summer camp help you gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills, it’s also the most fun way to spend your summer, and you deserve that.
In today’s hyper-connected world, finding time to disconnect is more important than ever. Summer camp offers a unique chance to unplug from the stress of life at school and engage with the world around you. Without the constant pressure of exams and deadlines, you’re free to immerse yourself in the present, connect with others, and truly relax.
After months of lectures, papers, and assignments, summer camp provides a refreshing change of pace. It’s a chance to shift your focus to more creative and physical activities. At camp, your daily “responsibilities” might include leading a group of campers on a nature trail, facilitating one of their daily activities, or playing a character in the evening’s special event. Spending a summer at camp is among the best ways to recharge for the next school year.
Long story short: camp friends are the best friends. This unique setting fosters deep connections and friendships that can last a lifetime. Whether you’re working alongside fellow staff or engaging with campers, you’ll be part of a close-knit community where everyone is encouraged to be their best selves. The bonds formed at camp are often fortified by shared experiences and joyful memories, making them uniquely strong and fulfilling.
Imagine waking up each morning to the gentle lapping of water against the shore and spending your days swimming, boating, or simply basking in the sun by the lake. Camp Champions is right on Lake LBJ, and every cabin is no more than a stone’s throw from the water. It’s not just an escape from the grind of city life; it’s a chance to experience a slice of paradise every day.
Working at camp really can be the perfect summer. Make friends, make memories, get a sweet tan. Maybe even a Chaco tan if you’re into that. You also get to make a difference for kids and build some skills for yourself. It’s more than a job—it’s an adventure, a community, and an experience you’ll never forget.
